Jean E. (Stuckey) Stammel

Jean E. Stammel, 84, of Country Meadows, Hershey and formerly of East Hanover Township, Dauphin County passed away Saturday, June 18, 2022.

Born June 15, 1938 in Dillsburg, she was a daughter of the late Charles Richard and Anna Elizabeth (Peterman) Stuckey. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Ronald L. Stammel, in December 2018 and also preceded in death by a son Ronald Lee Stammel in 1986 and her sister Roberta in 2011.

Jean spent much of her professional life in various rolls as an RN after receiving a diploma from the Harrisburg Hospital School of Nursing in 1959. In addition, she received her Bachelors of Science in Education from Millersville State College in 1977 and worked for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania before her retirement. Jean was a member of Shells Evangelical Lutheran Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir.

Surviving are her children Randal L. Stammel, Richard L. Stammel (Pamela M.), Robert L. Stammel (Michelle A.), Lisa K. Conz (Michael C.), and Rodney L. Stammel (April L.); grandchildren Zachary R. Wagner, Logan R. Stammel (Leigha K.), Allyson N. Tumminaro (Dominick A.), Ryan L. Stammel (Emily K.), Tyler L. Gutshall, Alexander W. Stammel, Carter G. Stammel, Quinn O. Stammel, Karis L. Stammel and Tatum R. Stammel; great grandson Colton R. Stammel; siblings Nancy Reisinger (Roy), Sue Bishop, (David), Richard Stuckey (Judy) and Eileen Brooks.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, July 11th at her church, 287 Shells Church Road, Grantville followed by a time for visitation and a light meal at the church. Private interment will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
