Jay F. Vogler, 86, of Harrisburg passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at Ecumenical Community.
Born July 22, 1932 in Harrisburg, he was a son of the late Frank E. and Catharine L. (Fackler) Vogler. He was the widower of Phyllis W. (Dunkleberger) Vogler since February 2013 and was also preceded in death by his son Dale R. Vogler, granddaughter Olivia Anne Shaull and siblings Victoria Vogler, Frank Vogler III, Joseph Vogler and Eugene Vogler.
Retired as a line inspector from PP&L, he was a member of Shells Evangelical Lutheran Church, East Hanover Lions Club, PP&L Retirees, LiveWires and various masonic organizations. Jay was a Lower Paxton High School Alumni, U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War, Dauphin County Republican National Committeeman and for many years was responsible for setting up voting machines.
Surviving are his daughters Linda K., wife of Rod Zwatty of Mechanicsburg and Cathy A., wife of Todd Owens of Harrisburg; sister Rosanna Espenshade of Grantville; grandson W. Taylor Shaull; brother-in-law Culver, husband of Grace Dunkleberger; numerous nieces and nephews; and good friend Shirley Huber.
A Service of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM Monday, February 25, 2019 at Shells Evangelical Lutheran Church, 287 Shells Church Road, Grantville. Viewings 6:00 – 8:00 PM Sunday and 9:30 – 10:00 AM Monday both at the church. Interment in Paxtang Cemetery.
