Jane C. Alwine, 90, of Hummelstown entered the church triumphant surrounded by her family on Friday, March 19, 2021.
Born January 29, 1931 in Hummelstown, she was a daughter of the late Roger and Bertha (Miller) Carroll. She was the widow of Jack L. Alwine in July 2007 after 58 years of marriage and also preceded in death by siblings Harry, Cassie, Ethel, Alma, Bertha, Caroline, and William, son-in-law Charles Roy, and daughter-in-law June Alwine.
A 1949 graduate of Hummelstown High School, she was a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church, Hummelstown, having served as a Sunday School teacher and assisted in re-settling more than 30 refugee families. Jane delivered Meals on Wheels, was a volunteer dispatcher for Elder Express, enjoyed traveling, and visited 48 of the states.
Surviving are her children Joyce A. Roy of Camp Hill, Janice L. Alwine of Susquehanna Township, John P., husband of Brenda Alwine of Orrtanna, and Jean L., wife of Gregory Seitz of Hummelstown; siblings Adeline Koons, Mildred Rider, and Roger Carroll; grandchildren Jeremy Roy, Matthew Roy, Courtney Nelson, Jimmy Alwine, Jeff Alwine, Alexandra Aguirre, and Madison Seitz; and great grandchildren Oliver, Gwyneth, and Juliet.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, March 29, 2021 at her church, 100 West Main Street, Hummelstown preceded by a visitation from 10:00 AM. Interment in Hummelstown Cemetery.
