James R. Shearer Obituary

James R. Shearer, 83, of Palmyra passed away Thursday, October 29, 2020 at home.

Born September 4, 1937 in Hershey, he was a son of the late Leroy and Helen (Smith) Shearer and also preceded in death by a son Scott Shearer.

Retired from the Hershey Lodge and Convention Center, he attended Hershey High School and was a U.S. Air Force veteran. A member of the Hershey Italian Lodge and Palmyra American Legion Post 72, he enjoyed crossword puzzles and going to casinos.

Surviving are his companion of 35 years Gloria M. Fitz; children Deb Gallea (Gary), Tracy Shearer (Tawanda Seifert), and John Stewart (Jamie); brothers George Shearer (Maryann), Robert Shearer (Carol), and Richard Shearer; seven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Also surviving are Gloria’s children Craig Fitz (Maria), Paul Fitz, Rhonda Rothman (Lee), Matthew Fitz, and six grandchildren.

There will be no service.
