James E. Turns, Jr.

James E. Turns, Jr., 72, of Hummelstown passed away Saturday, January 21, 2023 at home, surrounded by family.

Born November 28, 1950 in Harrisburg, he was a son of the late James E. Turns, Sr. and Marilyn D. (Kimmel) Turns.

Retired from the Hummelstown Post Office after 35 years of service and during that time he also worked for Rohrer Bus Service driving for the Lower Dauphin school district.  After retirement, Jim enjoyed golfing with his friends and worked at Spring Creek Golf Course in Hershey. He enjoyed coaching at East Hanover Baseball, spent 20+ years as a USA ice hockey official, and was an avid skier traveling out West numerous times.

Surviving are his sons Christopher J. Turns (Valerie) of Woodbury, Minnesota and Jason M. Turns of Hummelstown; brother David R. Turns (Phyllis) of Mahaffey; sister Kathy J. Turns of Orlando, Florida; sister Lisa R. Grubb (Donnie) of Palmyra; and grandchildren Riley, Brayden, Paige, Wesley, and Watson Turns.

A Celebration of Life will be held 6:00 – 8:00 PM Thursday, January 26, 2023 at Buse Funeral Home, 9066 Jonestown Road, Grantville.
