James A. Lahr, 82, of North Annville Township, Lebanon County passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon.
Born May 25, 1944 in Ashland, he was a son of the late James M. and Elsie H. (Lucas) Lahr.
Retired from the Shipping Department at Hershey Foods, James was a U. S. Army veteran, and a professional bowler. He was also an avid racing fan and enjoyed racing stock cars for many years. A lover of the outdoors, James took pride in tending to the outside of his home and enjoyed collecting cans to recycle.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Grace M. Lahr, two children Cindy A. Nichols of Jonestown and Dale A. Lahr (Jessica) of Kapolei, Hawaii, sister Ruthann “Sis” Wolfe (Charles) of Hershey, five grandchildren Janel Weaber, Wesley Nichols, Candace Horton, Emily Nichols, and Cassie Lahr, and four great grandchildren Cameron Weaber, Caiden Weaber, Lincoln Nichols, and Aria Nichols.
Interment, with military honors, will be held 10:00 AM Monday, June 8, 2026 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Samantha and Kyle Busch Bundle of Joy Fund, 161 Byers Creek Road, Suite A-B, Mooresville, NC 28117, who was James’ favorite racecar driver.
