Jacqueline Isome Nadler

Jacqueline “Jacquie” Isome Nadler passed away in Pennsylvania on Friday, July 18, 2025.  Jacquie was born in Decatur, IL on March 2, 1948, to Charles W. and Lois Barrett Isome and was raised in Assumption, IL.  She graduated from Assumption High School in 1966 and the University of Illinois in 1970 with a degree in fashion merchandising.  Moving to St. Louis, she first managed a boutique and then served as a fashion consultant for Famous Barr.  She also worked as a consultant for Alexander Proudfoot and as a mortgage manager for Citicorp.

Jacquie married David A. W. Nadler on December 31, 1987, in St. Charles, MO.  In 1993, they moved to Defiance, MO, and built and operated Das Gast Haus Nadler, a popular bed and breakfast adjacent to the Katy Trail.  They also owned a neighboring bar and restaurant affectionately known as “The Squirrel Bar.”  After her beloved husband passed in February of 2005, she remained in Defiance until March of this year when she moved to Hershey, PA to be closer to her family.

Jacquie is survived by a brother, Richard Isome (Wendy) of Beaufort, SC, a sister, Barbara Allen (Clarence) of Hershey, PA, nieces, Stephanie Allen (Tim Yates) of Elizabethtown, PA, Rebecca Wallace (Adrian) of Hershey, and grand-nephew, Max Wallace.  She is also survived by three step-children, Mike Nadler, Tony Nadler, and Yvonne Nadler Felker, and several cousins.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Jacquie on Saturday, August 9th at 11:00 AM at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 150 Defiance Rd, Defiance, MO where she had been a long-time member and served as the church treasurer for many years.  Rev. Michael Pope will officiate. The service will be preceded by a visitation beginning at 9:30.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to her church or a charity of the donor’s choice.
