Irene E. Helt Obituary

Irene E. Helt, 100, of Palmyra passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2021.

Born July 14, 1920 in Pine Grove, she was a daughter of the late Oscar I. and Mary M. (Barr) Reed. After 72 years of marriage, Irene was the widow of Robert C. Helt since April 10, 2018 and also preceded in death by a son Robert C. Helt, brother Ronald Reed, and sister Marie Worth.

Retired from the Palmyra School District cafeteria, she was a member of First United Methodist Church, Palmyra and the Palmyra Garden Club.

Surviving are her children Sandra Herr of New York and Jeffrey, husband of Yvonne Helt of Palmyra; daughter-in-law Pat Helt of Colorado; ten grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.

There will be a private service with interment in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, 520 East Birch Street, Palmyra, PA 17078.
