Helen T. Landis Obituary

 

Helen T. Landis, 94, of Ligonier and formerly of Palmyra passed away Thursday, May 21, 2020 at Bethlen Home, Ligonier.

 

Born November 7, 1925 in Huntingdon County, she was a daughter of the late Carl A. and Marian (Shay) Geier.  The widow of Edward W. Landis who died December 27, 2005, Helen was also preceded in death by sons, Steven J. Landis in 2005 and William C. Landis in 2013.  She was the last of her immediate family being preceded in death by siblings, Carl Geier, Donald Geier, Mary Geier and Anna Margaret Koontz.  She was also preceded in death by a great nephew, John Phillips Koontz in 1988.

 

Retired from Hershey Foods Corporation with 30 years of service, she was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Hershey Retirees Breakfast Club and Chocolate Workers Union Local 464.  She enjoyed walking and was a member of the Fitness Center Aquacise class.

 

Surviving are her spare son, David, husband of Judy Krosevic of Tarpon Springs, Florida; daughters in law, Sandra Landis of Palmyra and Lisa Landis of Hummelstown; granddaughter, Katie, wife of Tony Thompson and great grandchildren, Talon and Paige Thompson all of Middletown; nieces, Regan K., wife of Robert Jones of Front Royal, Virginia and Pamela A., widow of Richard Yuhaniak of Latrobe; nephew, Dwight P., husband of Deborah Koontz of Derry; great niece, Sophia M. Koontz; great nephew, Shane A. Koontz; and great nephews, Colton and Evan Sanders all of Derry; and her special dog, Lucy.

 

A private graveside service will be in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra.

 

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 300 West Pine Street, Palmyra, PA 17078 or Humane Society of Lebanon County, 150 North Ramona Road, Myerstown, PA 17067.
