Gwendolyn R. (Richards) Sener

Gwendolyn R. Sener, 101, of Hummelstown passed away Monday, April 10, 2023 at home.

Born February 28, 1922 in Royalton, she was a daughter of the late George Gilman and Kathryn May (Hoover) Richards and widow of Walter J. Sener, II since November 2020 after 77 years of marriage.  She was also preceded in death by her daughter Judith L. Sener, sister Jeanette Thomas, and brother Bradford Richards.

A Registered Nurse and graduate of Harrisburg Nursing School, she was a longtime member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Hummelstown, member and past matron of Middletown Order of the Eastern Star.

Surviving are her sons Walter J., III, husband of Amy Sener of Palmyra and Alan J. Sener of New York City; brothers George Richards, Ralph Richards, and Thomas Richards; grandchildren Walter, IV, husband of Cynthia Sener of San Diego, California, Brenda Snyder of Altoona, and Christine, wife of Pete Curfman of Greencastle; great grandchildren Gabriella, Charlotte, Jessica, and Tyler; and Judith’s partner Cynthia Banta.

A graveside service will be held 1:00 PM Friday, April 14, 2023 at Hillsdale Cemetery, South Geyers Church Road, Middletown.
