Gladys P. (Eshleman) Rhoads

Gladys P. Rhoads, 99, formerly of North Londonderry Township, passed away Monday, April 11, 2022 in Columbia Cottage, Palmyra where she has resided for seven years.  Gladys was an encouragement to the staff at Columbia Cottage and to all who knew her.

Born January 24, 1923 in Dauphin County, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Ruth (Runkle) Eshleman.   She was the widow of William T. Rhoads, after 67 years of marriage, since March 27, 2011, and also preceded in death by her son Robert Rhoads, daughter Sandra Rhoads, granddaughter Michelle Rhoads Gries and brothers Rufus and Robert Eshleman.

She and her husband Bill owned the former Rhoads Motel in Palmdale.  Gladys was a member of Faith United Church of Christ, Grantville, East Hanover Township Autumn Leaves, Hershey Sojourners, Palmyra Senior Citizens and Shellsville VFW #9639 Ladies Auxiliary.

Surviving are her daughter Ruth Laudermilch (John) of Bloomsburg; daughter in law Karen Rhoads of Palmyra; sister Charlotte Ehrlich; grandchildren Laura Mincemoyer (Mike), William Laudermilch (Susan), Lois Rovito (William), Robert Rhoads, Jr. (Ange), and Rick Rhoads (Naomi); great grandchildren Veronica, Alyssa (Jacob), Lauren, Alexis, Aaron, Megan (Dillon), Joshua, Amanda (John), Eli, and Grace; and great great grandchildren Virginia and Leo.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, April 15, 2022 at her church, 117 North Faith Road, Grantville, preceded by a viewing beginning at 1:00 PM.  Interment will be in Shells Cemetery.
