Geralyn Marie (Roberts) Meacham, 86, of Hummelstown passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2020.
Born June 19, 1933 in Hershey, she was a daughter of the late Ralph Richard and Sara E. (Keller) Roberts. She was the widow of William D. Meacham, Sr. since 2000 and also preceded in death by brothers Ralph R. Roberts, Jr. and Glenn M. Roberts.
She graduated from Hummelstown High School (now Lower Dauphin) in 1951 and worked 35 years for the Public Utility Commission. She sang briefly with four local dance bands before turning to theater where she appeared in productions of Finian’s Rainbow, Where’s Charley, Guys and Dolls, Damn Yankees, Scrooge, Riverwind, Deadwood Dick and Gigi, and entertained at Lebanon VA Hospital and various Golden Age Clubs, nursing homes, and banquets in the area. She began singing in her father’s church choir at age 14 and has sung every year since in the choirs of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Grace and Truth Bible Church where she was currently a member.
Surviving are nieces Beth Gauger and Marjorie Keener and nephew Alan Roberts.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at her church, 410 Pleasant View Road, Hummelstown, preceded by a viewing beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in Hummelstown Cemetery.
