George A. DuLac Obituary

George A. DuLac, 99, formerly of Palmyra passed away Friday, December 29, 2023 at The Middletown Home.

 

Born January 28, 1924 in Palmyra, he was a son of the late Arthur and Elizabeth (Irwin) DuLac.  George was the widower of Jean (Hetrick) DuLac and Betty L. (Wildermuth) DuLac and also preceded in death by a son Gregory DuLac and brothers Arthur and Conrad DuLac.

 

Retired from Boyer Printing, Lebanon, he previously worked for Sowers Printing, Lebanon and was an Air Force veteran of World War II, as a member of the 2nd Patches, a B17 in the 346 Squadron, 99th Bomb Group, of the Fifteenth Air Force.  George received a Purple Heart and Distinguished Flying Cross.  A 1942 graduate of Palmyra High School, he was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Palmyra, lifetime member of the Citizen’s Fire Company #1, Palmyra, and had served on Palmyra Boro Council for 13 years.

 

Surviving are his children Ann Tapman (Eric) of Hummelstown, David DuLac (Christine) of Queenstown, MD, and George DuLac (Vicky) of Palmyra; grandchildren Eric DuLac (Lori), Katie Tapman, Gregory DuLac, Andrew DuLac (Abby), Michael DuLac (fiancé Carlie Stein) and Rachel DuLac; great granddaughter Erica Bomgardner (Damon); and great great granddaughter Willow Bomgardner.

 

A visitation will be held 10:30 – 11:30 AM Friday, February 23, 2024 at Buse Funeral Home, 145 North Grant Street, Palmyra.  Private military honors will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.

 

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Palmyra Public Library, PO Box 114, Palmyra, PA 17078 or Palmyra Citizens Fire Company #1, 35 West Walnut Street, Palmyra, PA 17078.
