Gary D. O'Brien

Gary D. O'Brien, 67, of Middletown passed away of natural causes on Monday, January 22, 2024.

Gary lived his life the way he wanted to live and went through this world with a lighthearted spirit.

Born March 27, 1956, in Shamokin, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Daniel James and Helen Esther (Kulbacki) O'Brien.  He was a 1974 graduate of Middletown High School.  In 1977 he received his associates degree in Business Administration from Harrisburg Area Community College.  He then attended Penn State Harrisburg working towards his bachelor's degree in Public Policy.  Before moving out of the area he held his PA Real Estate License.

Gary worked in various contracted positions with the Federal Government and lived in Maryland, Georgia, Florida, Virginia and Connecticut.  In 2005 he held a contracted position in Al-Asad, Iraq, where he received an award for a job well done. He eventually settled back to Middletown and was a member of Middletown Moose Lodge and the Middletown VFW.
