Frances Kay Gergle, 69, of Palmyra passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at home.
Born January 26, 1953 in Bluefield, WV, she was a daughter of the late Thomas C. and Frances L. (Heath) Holiway. She was the widow of John S. Gergle, Jr. who passed away March 25, 2022 and also preceded in death by a stepson John S. Gergle, III.
Retired manager from Burger King, Palmyra, she was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Palmyra. Frances was a member of the Lawnton American Legion #998 and Palmyra American Legion #72 Ladies Auxiliaries. In 1985, she was the first female softball coach for Susquehanna Township and won the championship that year. In 1985 and 1990, Frances won the Golden Poet Award.
Surviving are her daughters Kristina Nicole Staub and Sunny Jo Goodyear; stepson Stephen John Gergle; stepdaughter Stephanie J. Strayer; siblings Dixie Lee Neidigh, Carolyn Sue Holiway, Kathy Regina Hendrickson, Thomas C. Holiway, Jr., Douglas K. Hatter, Kenneth E. Hatter, and George Blevins; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held 9:00 AM Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
