Eugene C. Stoner

Eugene C. Stoner, 86, of Londonderry Township passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, September 19, 2020 surrounded by his loving family.

Born June 18, 1934 in Sand Beach, he was a son of the late Eugene P. and Eva (Kuntz) Stoner.  He was also preceded in death by his son Gerald E. Stoner, siblings Claude Stoner, Thelma Marshall, and Wayne Stoner, and grandson Marc Sitzai.

Retired pattern maker from Bethlehem Steel, Eugene was a member of LifeGate Church, Elizabethtown and lifetime member of the Hershey Region Antique Automobile Club of America.  He was a master carpenter, creating many fine works for family and friends, volunteering for Habitat for Humanity, and taking a mission trip to Ecuador.  A devoted traveler, Gene visited all the States except Hawaii, as well as travelling to Israel, Romania, and Germany.  He was an avid outdoorsman and hunter, a 50’s Ford enthusiast and collector, and had served in various church leadership positions.

Surviving are his wife of 65 years Anna Mary (Shelly) Stoner; daughters Joyce Sitzai (Bill) of Lebanon, Carolyn Stoner (E. Michael Stadelmeier) of Elizabethtown, Cheryl Brown (Kevin) of Cedar Grove, NJ, and Brenda Warburton (Paul) of Elizabethtown; grandchildren William J. Sitzai, III (Joey), Justin M. Sitzai, Nathan S. Akers, Abigail S. Akers, Daniel P. Brown, Liam P. Brown, Erin D. Brown, Graham M. Warburton, and Gabriel C. Warburton; great grandchildren Alexander Wenger, Fallon Wenger, and William J. Sitzai, IV.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, September 26, 2020 at Temple Bible Church, 5880 Schoolhouse Road, Elizabethtown preceded by a viewing from 10:00 AM.  Interment in the adjoining Shenks Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donating blood in Eugene's name to the Central Pennsylvania Blood Bank, in memory of Eugene’s 15-year Leukemia battle and transfusions.  Appointments are suggested by calling 1-800-771-0059.
