Erla J. (McCurdy) Phillippy

Erla J. Phillippy, 101, formerly of Lawn Road, Campbelltown passed away Thursday, December 12, 2024 at Linden Village, Lebanon.

Born November 29, 1923 in Campbelltown, she was a daughter of the late Harry, Jr. and Katie E. (Gruber) McCurdy.  The widow of Raymond J. Phillippy, Jr. since May 2005, she was also preceded in death by siblings Nola Huggins, Harry McCurdy, Lester McCurdy and Nancy Gutshall and sons-in-law Thomas Stadulis and Jeffery Smith.

Erla was an employee of Hotel Hershey, Hershey Foods and the former Poser’s Department Store.  A lifetime member of Campbelltown United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years, Erla was also a member of the Ladies Missionary Society and treasurer of the Missions committee.

Surviving are her daughters Linda Lehman (Lee), Karen Zelko (John), Cynthia Stadulis (Chuck Stewart) and Barbara Smith (Jim Leonard); sisters Anna Stoner and Jane Jamison; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and one great great grandson.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at Buse Funeral Home, 145 North Grant Street, Palmyra preceded by a visitation beginning at 1:00 PM.  Burial will be in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra.
