Elaine Louise (Lighty) Robinson

Elaine Louise Robinson, 62, of Palmyra passed away peacefully at her son's home, surrounded by family, Sunday, April 10, 2022. 

Born April 8, 1960 in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late Charles Burns and Vivian Elaine (Hinkle) Lighty and also preceded in death by a sister Cathleen Ann Lighty. 

She was a real estate settlement notary and music director of Temple Beth Israel, Lebanon, previously an interior designer, but her favorite job was at Green’s Dairy in her youth.  A gifted musician, with an ear for music and harmony, Elaine attended Clarion State University for music and could play the piano, organ, clarinet, cello, bugle and more.  She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Lebanon, where she was previously the choir director and longtime leader of children’s music.  She was incredibly creative, loved teaching children and had served as Boy Scout Scoutmaster and Troop Commissioner.  A gifted seamstress and cook, she was a devoted wife and mother, to her own sons, as well as other children.  Elaine had a servant’s soul of charity, was an advocate for autism and neurodiversive people, and loved nature, camping, and hiking. 

Surviving are her husband of 30 years Carl D. Robinson; sons Brian Joseph Robinson of Palmyra and Matthew Aaron Robinson and fiancée Kole Seacord of Hershey; brother James Kenneth, husband of Gail Lighty of East Berlin and their sons Adam and Eric; sisters Cynthia Mae Lighty and Anita Marie Lighty both of Palmyra; parents-in-law Claude “Joe” and Nancy Robinson of York; foster children Jamilynn Kananiokamealoha Craft, Wade Kapualeilaniali'i Craft and Amanda Mahinahoku Craft; and grand-kitties Lenny and Ghostie. 

Private arrangements for family will be announced.
