Earl L. Boyer, Jr., 79, of Cleona, passed away Thursday, June 5, 2014 in Tel Hai Nursing Home, Honey Brook.
Born October 10, 1934 in Palmyra, he was the son of the late Earl L. Boyer, Sr. and Carrie (Maulfair) Casavant.
A retired insurance agent, he was a US Navy veteran of the Korean War. He graduated from Elizabethtown College, was a former Palmyra High School teacher, and former member of the Washington Marching Band, Annville. He was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church, Cleona and Palmyra American Legion #72.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years Opella M. (Daubert) Boyer; sons Eric Boyer of Exton and Edward Boyer of Hampton, Virginia; daughters Edwina Buntain and Ellen Thompson both of West Chester; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held 11:30 AM Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Immanuel United Methodist Church, 29 East Maple Street, Cleona, PA 17042.
