Dorothy M. (Weaber) Hitz

Dorothy M. Hitz, 104, of Palmyra passed away Saturday, May 27, 2023.

Born April 22, 1919 in Avon, she was a daughter of the late Bland B. and Ada C. (Walker) Weaber.  After 73 years of marriage, she was the widow of Clarence E. Hitz, since September 2015, and was also preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.

Dorothy was a cashier at the former Bucher’s Delicatessen, Palmyra and an active member of Campbelltown United Methodist Church where she was a longtime Sunday School teacher.

Surviving are her sons Clarence Eugene, husband of Mary Hitz of Hummelstown and Richard Bryan, husband of Joy Hitz of Palmyra; grandchildren Clarence E. Hitz, Jr., Christopher Hitz, Rebecca Gillaspy, and Scott Hitz; eleven great grandchildren; and fourteen great great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held 11:30 AM Friday, June 2, 2023 at Buse Funeral Home, 145 North Grant Street, Palmyra preceded by a viewing from 10:30 AM.  Interment in Grand View Memorial Park, Annville.
