Doris C. Owens, 89, of Harrisburg passed away Sunday, September 15, 2024.
Born January 30, 1935 in Harrisburg, she was a daughter of the late George and Mary V. (Cassel) Pierce. She was the widow, after 56 years of marriage, of Richard C. “Dick” Owens since January 2012 and also preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law George, Jr. and Dorothy Pierce.
Retired from Harrisburg Hospital, she was a member of Hummelstown United Church of Christ and active member of the Lawnton American Legion Post 998 Auxiliary, having held numerous offices. Doris loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren who will all miss her.
Surviving are her children Susan Rubinic (Craig) of Harrisburg, Robert C. Owens (Brenda) of Harrisburg, and Ronald P. Owens (Elizabeth) of Davidsonville, Maryland; grandchildren Matthew (Rachael), Rachael (Michael), and Olivia (Justin); and great grandsons Wyatt and Beau.
Private interment in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
