Donald W. Gesford

Donald W. Gesford, 90, formerly of East Hanover Township, Dauphin County, passed away Saturday, December 23, 2023 at Country Meadows of Hershey.

Born May 17, 1933 in Russell, Minnesota, he was a son of the late John and Ellen I. (Lingle) Gesford.  The widower of Catherine E. (Epler) Gesford since November 2019, he was also preceded in death by a son Daniel L. Gesford, and siblings Anna Melancon and John, Thomas, Roy, and Paul Gesford.

Retired from Hershey Foods Corporation, he was a radio operator in Germany for the U. S. Army during the Korean War.  Donald enjoyed gardening, painting, bowling, playing hockey and fast pitch softball.

Surviving are his daughter Donna Gesford of Harrisburg; step daughters Debra, wife of Daniel Grumbine of Hummelstown, Linda, widow of Bim Kerlin of Palmyra and Cindy, wife of David Felty of Bethel; brother Robert Gesford; two grandchildren; eight step grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and nine step great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at Buse Funeral Home, 145 North Grant Street, Palmyra preceded by a viewing beginning at 10:00 AM.  Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
