David J. Tregea, 77, of East Hanover Township, Dauphin County passed away Thursday, May 28, 2026 at home surrounded by his family.
Born March 28, 1949 in Sellersville, he was a son of Mary Jane (Emele) Tregea of Perkiomenville and the late John I. Tregea, Jr.
Dave was employed for over 30 years with the Commonwealth of PA as a computer professional, most recently retiring from the Public School Employees Retirement System (PSERS). Dave was a U. S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and served with the National Guard. He was a member of Faith United Church of Christ Grantville, White Ash Land Association (Sullivan County), Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever and a life member of the National Rifle Association and Harrisburg Hunters’ and Anglers’ Association.
Dave loved spending time in the outdoors both as an avid hunter and riding his Harley. He was the biggest fan of his daughter, Samantha, in her academic and sports endeavors at Lower Dauphin and Penn State University. He loved ending family dinners with a good game of Yahtzee, which he usually won.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife of 42 years Deborah (Faringer) Tregea of Grantville; daughter Samantha L. Tregea of Paxtang; sister Kathy Fitser (Jim) of Green Lane; brother Timothy Tregea (Diane) of Durham, New Hampshire; and extended family including numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 12:30 PM Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at Faith United Church of Christ, 117 North Faith Road, Grantville preceded by a visitation from 11:30 AM. Interment, with military honors, will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
