Danny L. Goss, 70, formerly of Palmyra passed away Sunday, June 9, 2024 at Arden Courts, Harrisburg.
Born June 29, 1953 in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Raymond L., Jr., and Donna J. (Palm) Goss and the widower of Karen L. (Albert) Goss.
Danny's career included longtime service both in the U.S. Air Force as a security police officer and for the State of Pennsylvania as a member of the parole board. His tenure in the Air Force gave him the opportunity to live all over the United States as well as overseas in the United Kingdom. Danny was very proud of his time in the military and would often wear shirts or hats that promoted the Air Force long after he retired. He loved to tell stories from his time of service and connect with others who also served or were considering serving their country. He was a member of Salem United Church of Christ, Campbelltown.
Surviving are his wife Sandra (Speelman) Detwiler Goss; children Patrick Goss (widower of Tina) of South Carolina, Joseph Goss (Jessica) of New Jersey, Jamie Kernes (Thomas) of Nebraska, Heidi Patak (Craig) of Nebraska, and Spencer Smith of Tokyo, Japan; sister Debi Goss of Florida; brother Richard Goss of Lewistown; and grandchildren Ashley, Hannah, William, Jackson and Avery Goss, Ian and Elena Kernes, and McCartney and Carmen Patak.
Interment, with military honors, will be held 9:00 AM Monday, June 17, 2024 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. A visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, Monday, June 17, 2024 at Salem United Church of Christ, 2761 Horseshoe Pike, Campbelltown followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM.
