Daniel Wilt, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully in his hometown of Lebanon, Pennsylvania, on May 24, 2025, at the age of 67. Born on October 06, 1957, in Lebanon, he was the cherished son of Melvin and Geraldine Wilt.
Daniel's early life was shaped by the values instilled by his supportive parents, which paved the way for his dedication to family and community. He was preceded in death by his son Michael Wilt, who he missed dearly.
In 1977, Daniel joined the National Guard, serving his country with pride and commitment. This period of service not only strengthened his character but also deepened his sense of duty to his community. After his military service and graduated high school, he embarked on a career that included working at Smith Hauling and as a foundry worker for Tech-Cast but it was his role in fire police that truly exemplified his lifelong dedication to helping others. He was a proud member of the Annville, Water Works and Campbelltown Fire Company where his contributions were appreciated by many.
Daniel was united in marriage to his beloved wife, Cheryl Wilt, with whom he shared over 42 years of love and companionship. Their union was a testament to unwavering support and understanding. Together, they created a warm and nurturing home, welcoming their son, Micheal wilt, who brought immense joy to their lives and continued the family legacy of kindness and service.
Daniel was also a devoted brother, leaving behind siblings Harold, Randy, Melvin Jr., Robert, Virginia, and Sarah May, and a longtime friend and son like Timothy Pyles who will carry forward his memory. Each of them shared countless cherished moments with him, reflecting a bond that only siblings can know.
In his free time, Daniel found peace and enjoyment in the simple things in life. He was an avid reader, often found with a copy of the fish wrapper in hand, and he loved fishing, a hobby that allowed him to connect with nature and unwind. Saturdays were special for him as he would venture out to the market with his loving beloved wife Cheryl enjoying the sights and sounds of the community he loved so dearly. His favorite saying was “You’ll have days like this they are like bananas they come in bunches”
Daniel’s heart was as big as his smile, and his gentle spirit touched the lives of everyone he met. He had an innate ability to make people feel valued and loved, and his kindness will be profoundly missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing.
Daniel Wilt will be remembered not only for his contributions to his family and community but also for the warmth and love he shared with all. Though he has departed from this world, his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.
