Conrad Frederick Schneider, II

Conrad Frederick Schneider, II, 92, formerly of Palmyra passed away Thursday, April 20, 2023.

Born June 13, 1930 in Palmyra, he was a son of the late J. Howard and Helen B. (Schirm) Schneider and also preceded in death by a brother J. Howard Schneider, Jr.

Retired from the printing business in 1996, he managed the former Schneider Printing Company, Palmyra from 1963 – 1980.  A 1948 graduate of the former Palmyra High School, Fred attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Police Action serving on the USS Windham Bay CVE 92.  He was a member and former consistory member of Trinity (E & R) United Church of Christ, Palmyra and Palmyra American Legion #72.  A former volunteer at the Palmyra Community Library, he enjoyed reading, music and played drums with the Parke Evans trio/quartet for a few years in the late 1950’s.

Surviving are his wife of almost 63 years Janice E. (Hollinger) Schneider; children Eric W. Schneider (Tina) of Cleveland, Ohio, Kurt W. Schneider of Palmyra, Hans V. Schneider (Beth) of Mount Gretna and Helga J. Rambler of Palmyra; brother Clarke H. P. Schneider of Florida; nine grandchildren;  five nieces; and one nephew.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at his church, 40 West Pine Street, Palmyra preceded by a visitation from 10:00 AM.  Private interment will be in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra.
