Christie Lynn (Miller) Gamber

Christie Lynn Gamber, 60, of East Hanover Township, Dauphin County passed away Friday, November 7, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born November 16, 1964 in Lebanon, she was a daughter of Christine (Rudegeair), widow of Charles W. Patschke of Centre Hall and the late Philbert Miller, Jr.  She was the widow of Douglas Fackler.

Mrs. Gamber taught for over 30 years in Lower Dauphin School District elementary schools, with the vast majority at East Hanover Elementary School.  While she taught every grade from K-6, she spent the most time teaching first graders.  She was a recipient of the 1999 Ag in the Classroom PA Farm Bureau Award.  She was incredibly dedicated to teaching and to her LD family/community and always proud to be a teacher and of all her students throughout the years.  Teaching was her life and she loved visiting all the teachers' stores she could find.  Christie earned her Bachelor's degree and Master's in Education from Penn State University and was an avid PSU sports fan.  A member, deaconess, financial secretary, and Sunday School Superintendent at Shope's Bethel Church of God in Harrisburg, she was a great mother and loved spoiling her grandchildren.

In addition to her mother, Christie is survived by her husband of 34 years Timothy L. Gamber, Sr.; children Clint Fackler (Kristen) of Grantville, Janelle Singer (Mike) of Hummelstown, Timothy L. Gamber, Jr. of Hummelstown, and Leah Lesh (Colton) of Gaithersburg, Maryland; siblings Diane Haggerty (Roger), Wendy Mallow (widow of Timothy), and Brian Miller (Kelly); and grandchildren Chloe, Chase, Audrey, and Cora.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, November 14, 2025 at Hanoverdale Church, 577 Hershey Road, Hummelstown with interment in the adjoining Hanoverdale Cemetery.  Viewings 5:00 - 8:00 PM Thursday and 9:00 - 11:00 AM Friday both at Hanoverdale Church.
