Cheryl D. Brown, 76, formerly of East Hanover Township, Dauphin County passed away Thursday, September 11, 2025.
Born January 25, 1949 in Hershey, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Dorothy (Rearick) Crawford and the widow of Nelson D. “Skip” Brown since October 2, 2007, who was the love of her life.
Cheryl had many interests including gardening, reading, golfing and doing the hardest crosswords puzzles, but her passion was music. She was an accomplished musician playing the piano, organ, clarinet, guitar and accordion. She also sang in many church and community choirs over the years and recently entertained residents of Traditions of Hershey with her talents.
Cheryl was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Union Deposit and a former member of the Hershey Community Chorus. A founding and former member of the Hummelstown Community Singers, she was their treasurer for many years.
Cheryl will always be remembered for her easy nature, beautiful smile, infectious laughter and for the great love she held for her family. One of her girls’ fondest memories were baking cookies with her at Christmas time and her love of family gatherings during the holidays.
Surviving are her daughters, Melissa Solomon, of Omaha, Nebraska and Andrea Brown of Miami, Florida; sister Christel Buck, (Scott) of Lock Haven; six grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in by her son-in-law, Benjamin Solomon and great grandson, Everett Benjamin Solomon.
A private funeral service was held at Buse Funeral Home, Palmyra. Interment was in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Harrisburg.
