C. Eugene Espenshade

C. Eugene Espenshade, 79, of Cleona, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2023.

Born March 31, 1943 in Hershey, he was a son of the late Cloyd W. and Grace M. (Harper) Espenshade.

Gene retired from Hershey Entertainment and Resort Company, was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church, Grantville and a U. S. Air Force Vietnam veteran serving with the 3918th Operations Squadron.  An avid bowler, he was a member of the Lebanon District Bowling Association Hall of Fame and for 28 years was a partner of the Dutchman Bolony Bowling Tourney.

Surviving are his wife of 38 years Doris J. (Bender) Espenshade; daughters Melissa K. Fisher of Palmyra and Andrea S. Dissinger (Byron, IV) of Shavertown; step daughters Toni L. Moody (Steffan) of Charlotte, NC, Tina M. Howard of Raleigh, NC and Tara J. Michels (Dan) of Hartville, OH; sister Sandra Hall (Larry) of Mount Gretna; brother Dale Espenshade (Judith) of Palmyra; twelve grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at his church, 165 Firehouse Road, Grantville with interment in the adjoining Grantville Cemetery.  Viewings will be 6:00 – 8:00 PM Monday and 10:00 – 11:00 AM Tuesday both at the church.
