Brenda JoAnn (Yordy) Good

Brenda JoAnn Good (née Yordy), 70, of Grantville, PA, passed away Friday, October 17, 2025 in her home, surrounded by her loving and devoted family.

Born October 13, 1955 in Lebanon, PA, she was the daughter of the late John Mark and Evelyn (Batz) Yordy.  She was raised on a farm in Green Point, and her love of gardening and animals followed her throughout her life; she was at her happiest while tending to her huge vegetable garden, many flower beds, and ancient elephant ears that adorned her yard and house, along with an eclectic collection of wind chimes and decorations.

While she enjoyed going on adventures and traveling around the country with her children, admiring the wonders of nature and wildlife, she was most content at her home, where she valued her solitude and independence.  In addition to gardening, she enjoyed cooking and baking – especially for holiday gatherings – spending time outdoors on her porch and in her yard, listening to country music, and spoiling her pets and grandchildren.

She retired from working in the Lower Dauphin High School cafeteria, where she was known for her cookies and beloved by students and teachers alike, but she was most proud of her role as an amazing mother and grandmother.  So loved by her family and friends, she is admired for her quiet faith, beauty, strength, and stoicism, which she carried throughout her life, even until her last breath.

She is survived by her devoted children Daniel Good (Amanda), Joshua Good, Jennifer Good, and Kate Good; her cherished grandchildren John, Jacob, Norah, Aliou, and Evelyn; and her siblings Doris Solmiren, Nancy Ritchie, Peggy Bowman, and Randy Yordy.  She is predeceased by her parents and two brothers, her friend and former husband, Gerald Good, Jr., and many beloved pets, including her Hobo and Kitty, with whom she is now joyfully reunited.

Visitation will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 24, 2025 at Buse Funeral Home, 9066 Jonestown Road, Grantville.  A funeral service will follow at 12:30 PM, with interment in Manada United Christian Cemetery, Grantville.
