Billy Delano Stites, 89, of West Hanover Township, passed away Thursday, December 26, 2024.
Born July 6, 1935 in Creal Springs, Illinois, he was a son of the late Willie and Jewell (Segers) Stites, the widower of Neva Ruth Stites since November 25, 2007 and preceded in death by daughter Nathalee Roseanna Stites.
Billy was a horse owner at Penn National Race Course and a U. S. Army veteran. A member of East Shore Baptist Church and Horsemen’s Benevolent and Protective Association, he was former President of the Chaplaincy Board at Penn National. When living in Kentucky, Billy was a former deacon at Spears Mill Baptist Church.
Surviving are his son Flint Wayne Stites (Christine); daughters Nathalynn Ruth Tingle (David) and Rosellen Hazel Rhoades (Daniel); ten grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held 12:00 Noon Friday, January 3, 2025 at the race track kitchen at Penn National Race Course, Grantville. Private interment, with military honors, will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
