Betty J. (Smith) Smith

Betty J. Smith, 91, of Palmyra passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2026.

Born February 17, 1935 in Hershey, she was a daughter of the late Clifford and Edith (Strickler) Smith and also preceded in death by a sister Ruthanna Hoffer.

Betty was a member of Palmyra Church of the Brethren and is survived by her husband of 70 years Robert B. Smith; sons David R. Smith (Sharon), Dale A. Smith (Jana Storm), and Thomas L. Smith (Sandi); and sisters Shirley Stover, Nancy Wenger, and Etta O’Conner.  She also leaves behind seven grandchildren Erin Wachter (Aaron), Joel Smith (Addie), Jacob Smith, Greyson Smith (Katie), Sarandon Smith (Taylor Cuddy), Maya Smith, and Liana Smith and nine great grandchildren Evelyn, Elijah, Nathaniel, Hunter, Ada, Ellie, Vera, Lily, and Korra.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, August 10, 2026 at her church, 45 North Chestnut Street, Palmyra.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Palmyra Church of the Brethren, 45 North Chestnut Street, Palmyra, PA 17078.
