Benny Ray Cadenhead, 73, of East Hanover Township, Dauphin County passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at Emerald Nursing and Rehabilitation, Elizabethtown.
Born October 26, 1951 in Texas, he was a 1971 graduate of Morton High School. Benny was a U. S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War and while in the Air Force he became a Radiology Specialist and later was a Trainer/Supervisor and Technical Instructor. He was a 1978 NCO graduate of the Leadership School and after completing his time with the Air Force was a 1979 graduate of the North Central Texas Regional Police Academy. He was a police field training officer and received four letters of commendation while serving on the police force. Later Benny worked for the Truck Stops of America, Chem-Tainer, various jobs in maintenance and security and his last job was in traffic control with Flagger Force.
Surviving are his wife Patricia K. (Myers) Cadenhead; children Jason Cadenhead, Michelle Cadenhead, Joseph McCabe, Mary McCabe and her husband Chad McCabe and Virginia Hackel and her husband Tomie Hackel; brother Lee Cadenhead and wife Diane Cadenhead; grandchildren Ashley Jones-McCabe, Kevin Michel, G. Scott Michel, Heather Davis and husband Edward Davis and Corline Craigmiles and husband Joshua Craigmiles; and nine great grandchildren.
Benny was preceded in death by a granddaughter Candice Michel Reynolds.
A viewing will be held 1:00 to 3:00 PM Sunday, November 3, 2024 at Buse Funeral Home, 9066 Jonestown Road, Grantville. Interment, with military honors, will be 9:00 AM Monday, November 4, 2024 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
