Barbara Marie (Bucher) Wagner

Barbara Marie Wagner (nee Bucher), 88, of North Londonderry Township passed away in her home on Monday, December 30, 2024 unexpectedly.

Born August 21, 1936 in North Londonderry Township to the late Allen G. and Katie E. (Henry) Bucher, she was the youngest and last of her immediate family.  She was preceded in death by siblings Myra Bashore, Robert Bucher, Mary Hostetter, George Bucher, Anna Ruth Bucher, Simon Bucher, Paul Bucher, and an infant brother.

A 1954 graduate of Palmyra Area High School, she married Elvin R. Wagner on December 9, 1956.  They just celebrated 68 years of their happily ever after marriage.  Barbara was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, puzzles, her flower gardens, needlework, quilting, and making Christmas cookies with family members.

Barabara worked at Bucher’s Delicatessen for many years.  When it closed, she worked at ASK Basket Deli, until retirement in 2014.  She was a member of Palmyra Church of the Brethren and taught Sunday School for many years.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children David Wagner, Nancy Strickler (Eugene), and Michael Wagner (Betsy), five grandchildren, two step grandchildren, five great grandchildren, four step great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at Palmyra Church of the Brethren, 45 North Chestnut Street, Palmyra preceded by a viewing from 10:00 AM.  Private interment in Grand View Memorial Park, Annville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Citizens Fire Company #1, 35 West Walnut Street, Palmyra, PA 17078.
