With heavy hearts we announce that Barbara Kay Spitler, 84, lifelong resident of East Hanover Township, Dauphin County, was called home to her Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 17, 2025 surrounded by love and prayers of her family.
Born July 13, 1941 in Lebanon, she was a daughter of the late Aaron E. and Della M. (Royer) Neidig.
A 1959 graduate of Hershey High School, she retired from Penn National HBPA. Barb attended St. John’s United Methodist Church, Grantville, LifePoint Church, Harrisburg and Encounter Church, Palmyra and was a faithful prayer warrior for many. She enjoyed working outdoors in her flower gardens, landscaping her property and spending time at the barn with her horses. Her favorite times were spent with family - walking around and being at the family park or sitting on her big front porch.
Surviving are her sons Tyler G. “Shake” Spitler (Deann) of Grantville and Troy A. Spitler (Alexandra); sister Joann M. Stohler (Jay); brother A. Edward Neidig (Veronica); and grandchildren Cody T. Spitler, Cassandra Spitler and Colton Spitler.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at St. John’s United Methodist Church, 165 Firehouse Road, Grantville preceded by a visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in Grantville Cemetery. A Celebration of Life gathering will follow at Linglestown American Legion, 505 North Mountain Road, Harrisburg.
