Barbara Elaine Quick Obituary

On the morning of Wednesday, September 10, 2025, 83 year old Barbara Elaine Quick did something she had only dreamed about for a long time. She was called by Jesus, and with this call Barbara jumped up and ran to him. Although she is loved by many and will be dearly missed. Family and friends are happy that Barbara has now reunited with many loved ones.

Barb began her beautiful life on December 29, 1941 in New London, Connecticut. She was a daughter of the late Wilbur and Frances (Kepner) Warner and was preceded in death by brothers Richard Warner and William Deavor.

Barb was a hardworking, dependable employee at Lady Ester and Safety Light. She was a long-standing member of the Berwick Christian Church and was a resident of Nescopeck for over 40 years.

Barb loved her quiet mornings of solitude. She also loved to just sit in peace before starting her day. Barb could be found in her flower gardens in the early morning and loved gardening. She enjoyed reading the Bible and was an avid fan of James Patterson. A competitive board game and card player, she had no problem kicking the butt of anyone she was playing against.  Barb loved completing jigsaw puzzles with family and friends or by herself. Over her lifetime she completed hundreds, averaging one puzzle a week.  Always one for a challenge, Barb would say “the harder, the better.”

Barb embraced the challenges that came with everything she put her hands on, especially crafts. She loved to do needlepoint and crochet. Barb and her mother would help each other with tricky crochet stitches and projects. Barb has created many beautiful art pieces for family and friends. Another one of Barb’s pastimes was watching TV. She followed General Hospital for over 50 years and was an avid movie watcher. Barb also loved crossword puzzles, she devoured anything that would challenge her mind. She enjoyed reading and playing games on her kindle, Nintendo DS and iPad.

Barb loved animals, especially cats. She always had a way with them and seemed to prefer animals to people. She would care for the local strays near her home and frequently donated to the Animal Resource Center (ARC). Barb will be buried with her cat Rosie whom she loved very much.

Barb’s unconditional love of her family was strong and evident. Her dry sense of humor and sharp wit will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Surviving are her husband of 61 years Freeman E. Quick; daughter Yvonne Sharrow (Scott); granddaughters Katelyn Sharrow and Olivia Sharrow; sister Susan Bodnar (Steve); brothers Robert Warner and Gary Warner (June); and many other family members.
