Shirley L. (Piefer) Hoon

Shirley L. Hoon, 78, of Harrisburg, passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2019.

Born November 18, 1940 in Nanticoke, she was the daughter of the late Spurgeon and Helen (Kline) Piefer, the widow of Charles “Ben” Hoon, Jr. since 2006 and preceded in death by daughter Patti Roe in 1998.

She was self employed in insurance sales and tax preparation and a Ladies Auxiliary member of Shellsville VFW #9639 and Linglestown American Legion #272.

Surviving are her longtime companion James Carelli; children Susan, wife of Mark Miskar of Homosassa, Florida and David, Jr., husband of Charlotte Moss of Stillwater; grandchildren Anthony Minito, Roman Moss and Moriah Moss; and great granddaughter Patricia Minito.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, October 19, 2019 at Buse Funeral Home, 9066 Jonestown Road, Grantville preceded by a viewing from 10:00 AM.  Private interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
