Samuel H. Brandt, 90, of Londonderry Village, Palmyra passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at the home.
Born August 26, 1928 in Lancaster, he was a son of the late Roy S. and Anna E. (Hoffer) Brandt and also preceded in death by brothers Roy and Luke.
Retired from Building Maintenance for Hershey Chocolate Company, Sam was an active and faithful member of Palmyra Church of the Brethren and enjoyed traveling, having visited 48 states of America. He was a member of the Hershey Coin Club, skilled with carpentry and crafts, and collected Hershey memorabilia and antique tools. Very family oriented, Sam loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife of 65 years Betty (George) Brandt; son Douglas G. Brandt of Colebrook; daughter Joan, wife of David Smith of Palmyra; sisters Nancy, wife of Paul Jay of Gettysburg, Betsy, wife of J. Robert Shenk of Mount Joy, and Sandra, wife of Joseph Pushnik of Palmyra; sister-in-law Isabel Brandt of Palmyra; granddaughters Heather L. Stanton and Lauren D. Brandt; five great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, March 4, 2019 at the DiMatteo Worship Center at Londonderry Village, 1200 Grubb Road, Palmyra preceded by a visitation from 10:00 AM. Private interment in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra.
