Rebecca J. Shaw, 65, of Country Meadows of Hershey passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2017.
Born July 31, 1951 in Huntington, West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Franklin O’Dell and Peachy (Howard) Phipps.
She retired from Lancaster-Lebanon Intermediate Unit 13 (IU13), was a member of Salem United Church of Christ and was a wonderful mother. A dedicated teacher in and out of the classroom, she was past President of Best Buddies, leader of the Stop Hunger Now Organization, and organized Challenge Day and Make a Difference Day.
Surviving are her daughter Brittany Alyse Devine, wife of James, Jr. of Flanders, New Jersey; brother Ryan Wayne Alexander of Miami, Florida; sister Marsha Diann McComas of Huntington, West Virginia and her daughter Betina Clark of Chesapeake, Ohio.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, February 19, 2017 at Salem United Church of Christ, 2761 Horseshoe Pike, Campbelltown preceded by a visitation from 1:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 610 Community Way, Lancaster, PA 17603.
