Nanette M. Kimmel, 71, of East Hanover Township, Dauphin County passed away Sunday, July 21, 2019.
Born February 17, 1948 in Harrisburg, she was the daughter of Julia Barbara (Hazuda) Bowerman of Linglestown and the late Roy James Bowerman. She was the widow of Paul L. Kimmel since October 1993.
Retired from the Governor’s Office, she was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Church and graduate of the Philadelphia Dance Academy and Combs College of Music. Nanette was choreographer of Lower Dauphin High School musicals for 24 years and director at Harrisburg Christian Performing Arts Center (HCPAC). She had a passion for dance and theater and thoroughly enjoyed the time she spent working with her students.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by sons Kristofer P. Kimmel (Maggie Cierpilowski) of Linglestown, Kortney A. Kimmel (Cindy) of Blauvelt, New York, and Kerry P. Kimmel of Palmyra; brothers Roy J. Bowerman (Ronda) of Severna Park, Maryland and Joseph R. Bowerman (Michael Lichtefeld) of New York City; grandson Paul J. Kimmel; step children Kevin J. Kimmel, Karen A. Sweigard, and Kelly A. Sebastian; and step grandchildren Kelsee, Maxwell, and Ava. She was also adored by numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Nothing was more important to her than spending time with her family and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM Friday, July 26, 2019 at Holy Name of Jesus Church, 6150 Allentown Blvd, Harrisburg with interment in Shells Cemetery, Grantville. Viewings 6:00 – 8:00 PM Thursday at Buse Funeral Home, 9066 Jonestown Road, Grantville and 10:00 – 11:00 AM Friday at the church.
