Nancy M. Eckert, 83, of Palmyra passed away Saturday, October 7, 2017 in the Hershey Medical Center.
Born May 19, 1934 in Palmyra, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Eliza (Emrich) Lehman and was also preceded in death by a brother Paul Lehman.
A 40-year career as a registered nurse, retiring in 1995, she was a 1952 graduate of Palmyra High School and a 1955 graduate of Polyclinic School of Nursing. She was a lifelong member of Palm Lutheran Church and their Friendship Circle. A member of the Audubon Society, she was a 60-year member of Palmyra Order of the Eastern Star attaining the positions of Worthy Matron in 1972 and Deputy Grand Matron in 1984. She enjoyed singing with the Palmyra Chorus, traveling with her husband, hosting weekly Bible studies in her home, spending time with friends and was a loyal fan of Palmyra and Lebanon Valley College sporting events.
Surviving are her husband of 61 years Franklin A. Eckert; children Gregory L., husband of Donna Eckert, Timothy L., husband of Susan Eckert, and Robyn Sue Eckert; brother Ralph Lehman; grandchildren Gregory, Michael, Tabitha, Peter, James, Matthew, Josiah, Ruthanna and Sarah; and two great granddaughters Claire and Emma.
A memorial service will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at her church, 11 West Cherry Street, Palmyra preceded by a visitation beginning at 2:00 PM. Private interment will be in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra.
