Mahlon H. Geesaman Obituary

Mahlon H. Geesaman, 95, of Londonderry Village, Palmyra passed away Friday, April 26, 2019 at the Village.

 

Born April 11, 1924 in Colonial Park, he was a son of the late Mahlon L. and Viola (Frank) Geesaman.

 

He retired from the Pennsylvania Railroad as a machinist and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.  A lifetime member and deacon of Hanoverdale Church of the Brethren, he was also a church trustee, adult Sunday School teacher, and day camp leader.  Mahlon was an avid wood worker, stamp collector, and loved gardening.

 

Surviving are his wife of almost 72 years Mary Alice (Shiffler) Geesaman; son Stephen Geesaman (wife Patricia) of Annville; daughter Mary Lynn Kautz (widow of Gregg) of Middletown; siblings Paul Geesaman, Ruth Crumrine, and Sarah Campbell; grandchildren Stephen Geesaman, Jr. (wife Beatrice) and Heather Smith (husband Joshua) ; and eight great grandchildren.

 

A funeral service will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at his church, 577 Hershey Road, Hummelstown preceded by a viewing from 9:00 AM.  Interment in the adjoining Hanoverdale Cemetery.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hanoverdale Church of the Brethren, 577 Hershey Road, Hummelstown, PA 17036 or the Brethren Housing Association, 219 Hummel Street, Harrisburg, PA 17104.
