June W. (Schaffner) Leitzel

June W. Leitzel, 92, of Lower Paxton Township went to be with the Lord Jesus on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Carolyn’s House, Harrisburg.

Born May 7, 1925 in Dalmatia, she was one of seventeen children to the late Carmie and Linnie (Long) Schaffner.  June was the widow in October 2016 of the love of her life, Mark E. Leitzel, after over 60 years of marriage, and was also preceded in death by a son Rodney Leitzel.

Surviving are two daughters Terry R. Davies and Karen M. Leitzel, wife of Brenda Brown; two sons Kim Leitzel and Mark A. (Tony) Leitzel, husband of Tracy Leitzel; numerous grandchildren; multiple great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandsons.  She loved spending time with her family, and enjoyed crafts and quilting. In loving memory of June: loving wife, faithful mother, good sister, caring grandmother, and fine friend:  now rest in peace, we love you.

A memorial service officiated by Pastor David V. Martin will be held at Susquehanna Valley Evangelical Free Church, 6433 Union Deposit Road, Harrisburg, PA 17111 on Friday, February 16, 2018 at noon, and visitation will be at the church from 11 am to noon. Interment will follow the service at Jacobs Methodist Church Cemetery, 36 Jacobs Church Road, Halifax, PA 17032.
