John R. Seaman

John R. Seaman, 91 of East Hanover Township, Lebanon County passed away Saturday, April 14, 2018 at his home.

Born May 26, 1926 in Grantville, Lebanon County, he was a son of the late Jared Reily and Mildred (Hess) Seaman.  He was the widower of Lucille E. (Gibson) Seaman who died December 1992 and was also preceded in death by children Kathy in 1960 and Glenn in 1968 and siblings Christian Seaman, III, Clarence Seaman, Irene Rhoads and Jacob Seaman.

He retired as a painter from HERCO.  After retirement, John had a passion for woodworking and was known for his woodworking skills, making numerous clocks and other furniture. 

Surviving are his children Linda Lupey, wife of Ted of Harrisburg, Kenneth Seaman, husband of Judy of Grantville, Bonnie Wenrick, wife of Kurt of Grantville, Dale Seaman, husband of Renita of Grantville and Judy Mongold, wife of Larry Mongold of Palmyra; sisters Eva Colyer and Grace Worm both of Grantville; 17 grandchildren; and 27 great grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank John’s caregiver, Peter Asante, for the wonderful care he provided for the past year and also Compassionate Care Hospice for their care during John’s last days.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Grantville Cemetery, Firehouse Road, Grantville.
