Ernest Banko, 91, of Palmyra passed away Thursday, June 22, 2017 in the M.S. Hershey Medical Center.
Born October 22, 1925 in Wassergass, he was a son of the late Michael and Anna (Pozvek) Banko and the widower of Anna (Loverich) Banko. He was also preceded in death by siblings Mary Furhosel, Alex Banko, William Banko, Helen Rasich, Irene Raudenbush, and Frank Banko.
Retired from Hershey Foods, he was an avid gardener and hunter.
Surviving are his wife Shirley (Brandt) Banko; children Caroline Fake (widow of Terry), Michael Banko (Yoko), Edward Banko (Susan), and Tina Henderson (Reginald); step children Lori Moyer, Robert Heilman (Debra), John Shaak (Michelle), and Timothy Shaak (Pamela); siblings Erma Sherer, Anna Petak, and Margaret Jones; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, June 26, 2017 at Buse Funeral Home, 145 North Grant Street, Palmyra preceded by a viewing from 10:00 AM. Interment in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra.
