Ellen Carlson Peters, 67, of East Hanover Township, Dauphin County, passed away Friday, May 31, 2019.
Born May 4, 1952 in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Carl Leroy and Barbara (Brantley) Carlson.
A 1970 graduate of Hempfield High School, Ellen graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Biochemistry in 1974 from The Penn State University. She worked at the M. S. Hershey Medical Center as a research assistant for over 18 years and was cited as co-author on several papers. Later, she was an assistant archivist at Hershey Community Archives and most currently was a puppettier for the ARC of Dauphin and Lebanon Counties.
Ellen formerly was a clarinetist with the Hershey Symphony Orchestra, Lebanon Valley College Symphony, East Hanover Community Band, and New Cumberland Town Band and along with a pianist played at various nursing homes and church. She and a group of ladies enjoyed baking for the AIDS food bank in Harrisburg. Ellen enjoyed reading, gardening and taking cruises and traveling with her husband of 44 years Charles William Peters.
Surviving in addition to her husband is her brother Franklin Carl and his wife Mildred Elaine (Strickler) Carlson of Sedona, Arizona.
A visitation will be held 10:30 – 11:30 AM Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at Buse Funeral Home, 9066 Jonestown Road, Grantville. Burial will follow in Hershey Cemetery.
