Elizabeth A. Latz, 84, of Palmyra passed away Sunday, June 17, 2018 at home.
Born July 9, 1933 in Johnstown, she was the last surviving member of her immediate family being preceded in death by her parents John and Angie (McMeans) Keating, sister Mary Agnes Slick, and brother John Keating, Jr.
A 1951 graduate of Ferndale High School, she had been awarded the American Legion Award, danced in the Old Ferndale Minstrel, and was Ferndale Volunteer Fire Jubilee Queen. She had served as a den mother for the Ferndale Cub Scouts and been employed in the business office of Penn-Traffic Department Store and later in various roles at the Hershey Chocolate Factory in the late 1960’s. For seven years, she volunteered at the former Harrisburg State Hospital Clothes Tree and was active in the Palmyra Garden Club and Palmyra Red Hat Society. She enjoyed gardening and collecting, but was especially passionate about decorating, having decorated eleven homes during her marriage.
Surviving are her husband of 62 years Adolph Latz; sons Wade A., husband of Olivia M. Latz of Annville, David A., husband of Barbara L. Latz of Palmyra, and Craig A. Latz of Enola; grandchildren Amanda, Benjamin, Samuel, and Alyssa.
