Earl L. Edwards, 90, of Interfaith Manor, Palmyra passed away Friday, January 18, 2019.
Born December 8, 1928 in Ephrata, he was a son of the late Earl N. and Margaret (Moore) Edwards. He was the widower of Esther I. (Schaeffer) Edwards since September 2010 and also preceded in death by daughter-in-law Cindy Edwards, brother Harold Edwards, sister Nancy Runion, and grandson Lonnie, Jr.
He retired from Hershey Foods Corporation with 40 years of service and was a member of Bindnagle Lutheran Church, Palmyra. A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, he was a past commander and life member of Campbelltown American Legion and life member of Palmyra V.F.W. Earl was a member of Chocolate Workers Union Local 464, R.S.V.P., Palmyra Senior Citizens, drove van for Interfaith Manor for 10 years and enjoyed traveling.
Surviving are his wife Katie (Noey) Edwards; children Jill Edwards, wife of George Beech of Lancaster, Lonnie Edwards of Grantville and Pamela Edwards, wife of Frederica Wood of Montrose, West Virginia; step children Daniel Guzik of Smithfield, Robert, husband of Karen Guzik of Smithfield, Daphne, wife of Mark Whitaker of Middletown, and William, husband of Jackie Stalter of Camp Hill; brother Melvin Edwards of Lebanon; granddaughter Amanda Edwards; and Katie’s entire extended family.
A funeral service will be held 9:30 AM Thursday, January 24, 2019 at his church, 801 Gravel Hill Road, Palmyra preceded by a viewing beginning at 8:30 AM. Interment, with military honors, will follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
