Doris Jean Golda Obituary
Doris Jean Golda, 92, of Halifax, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2019.
Born September 27, 1926 in Marysville, she was a daughter of the late Elmer J. and Martha R. (Minnich) Schreffler and also preceded in death by sisters Agnes Wells, Martha Baldwin and Anna Logan and brothers Harry Schreffler, Elmer Schreffler and Francis J. Schreffler.
Retired from Telegraph Press, she was a U. S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, and lifetime member of Shellsville V.F.W. #9639 Ladies Auxiliary.
Surviving are her husband of 65 years Joseph A. Golda, Sr.; children Paul, husband of Nancy Dalton of Shermans Dale, Joseph Golda, Jr. of Harrisburg, Rose, wife of John Luzik of Halifax and Gloria Lebo of York; sister Pearl Eways of Charlottesville, Virginia; brother Paul Schreffler of Highspire; ten grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
A graveside service, with military honors, will be held 11:30 AM Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Pennsylvania, 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
