Donna E. (Ginder) Backenstoes

Donna E. Backenstoes, 68, of North Annville Township passed away Friday, February 16, 2018 in the M.S. Hershey Medical Center.

Born November 4, 1949 in Hershey, she was a daughter of the late Clarence E. and Pauline (Rittle) Ginder.  She was the widow of Ralph I. Backenstoes since May 2015 and was also preceded in death by a son Sean Michael in November 1972.

Retired from Hershey Foods, she was a member of First Evangelical Congregational Church of Palmyra, 1967 graduate of Hershey High School and received her bachelor’s degree from West Chester State College in 1971.

Surviving are her daughter Amy L. Backenstoes and fiancé Scott C. Smith of Palmyra; son Gregory E. Backenstoes of Annville; sister Jane G., wife of Douglas C. Swims of Hummelstown; and brother Dale E. Ginder, husband of Linda Ward Ginder of Elizabethtown.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Buse Funeral Home, 145 North Grant Street, Palmyra preceded by a viewing beginning at 9:00 AM.  Interment in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra.
